It’s never going to be easy coming back to club football after the international matches.

For a multi-national squad like ours, it is even worse – with numerous players leaving for international duty and coming back injured.

The good news this time is that we have an almost fully-fit squad at our disposal after the international matches.

We’re also finally rediscovering our scoring touch, in particular Super Frank Lampard who shut the critics up with a hat-trick against Bolton.

The bad news, however, is that we’re facing Everton.

I honestly do not fancy us going up against the Toffees straight after an international break because this Merseyside team are fast becoming somewhat of a bogey team for us.

Playing at Stamford Bridge may seem like an advantage but, in truth, we have only beaten David Moyes’ boys once in the last five meetings at home.

In fact, we did not even beat Everton last season – having been held 1-1 at home and losing 2-1 away.

Still, we have the Andre Villas-Boas factor and the man knows what he’s doing.

Didier Drogba could be given an extended run in the team and his physical presence will be sorely needed to bully the Everton defence, which has been pretty shaky lately.

Throw in the trickery of Juan Manuel Mata, who has been a revelation since his arrival, and the pace of Daniel Sturridge, and suddenly we might well have the right ingredients to unlock this stubborn Everton side.

But, of course, the big match of the week is definitely Liverpool vs Man Utd.

Although I would secretly prefer Kenny Dalglish’s team to win, the truth is Fergie’s boys are definitely the in-form team and have been in rampant form so far this season together with their neighbours, Man City.

But then again, anything can happen whenever the Scousers and the Mancunians come face-to-face.

And, we the Blues, will definitely need to keep our heads up and start making up ground on the Manchester duo – starting with Everton.

Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.
Kng Zheng Guan thinks that Gael Kakuta should be given more game time at Bolton. If all that the Trotters are going to do is to keep him on the bench, then it’s better to take him back in January.
