MAN CITY 1 QPR 1

THIS is it … yes, call it whatever you want, but yes, this is no longer a prediction, it is an aspiration – for Man City to drop points in their last

outing of the season. Man City are looking too confident to be crowned champions. But wait, so too is QPR, who believe they’re going to stay in the Premier League. Mark Hughes still has a score to settle with his former employers and this is going to be one cracker of a game. All that’s left is for our dear old Tony Fernandez to give the QPR boys a pep talk on Malaysia Boleh! It has to be a draw.

SUNDERLAND 0 MAN UTD 3

MANCHESTER United will definitely go all out on the attack right from the first whistle. Sunderland have nothing to play for, having escaped relegation and missing out on a place for Europe. Nothing much to say here for them except United need this win, desperately. Sir Alex will be busy these few days looking for the same lucky charm that he used in the 1999 Champions League final. I have a feeling it must be some old Wrigley chewing gum.

EVERTON 2 NEWCASTLE 0

EVERTON are in form and it will be no easy task to outperform them at Goodison Park. I don’t think Newcastle will be looking at fighting for Champions League spot, not since their loss to Manchester City. David Moyes knows that his only pride this season would be to finish above Liverpool. Newcastle, on the other hand, are my “team of the season” – they have exceeded expectations, played brilliantly, got great scouts and a great manager.

Well, we have come to the end of the season. I have to say that it has been a wonderful 12 weeks of predictions and I do hope that I have not offended anyone intentionally or unintentionally. My special thanks to Andy for introducing me, my buddy Jason Siriwardene for the awesome input, Ronald John for the sarcastic remarks, and yes, my ever supportive son Mikhail, my fan – daughter Natasha, my grammar teacher wife and many others who have contributed in various ways. Lastly, to the editor who gave me the opportunity to be part of this column. Salaam.
