LONDON (AP) – Manchester United’s Alex Ferguson has been voted the top manager in the first 20 years of the Premier League, and Ryan Giggs has been selected as the top player.
Ferguson’s United sides have won the title 12 times, but his team lost this year’s championship on goal difference to neighbor Manchester City on Sunday.
The 38-year-old Giggs has been part of all of United’s Premier League title-winning sides and is the most decorated player in British football history.
He has made 598 Premier League appearances and is committed to playing for United next season.
The 70-year-old Ferguson also has no plans to leave United, where he has been in charge since 1986.
Votes were cast by a panel of experts.
