PETALING JAYA: Selangor winger Raimi Mohd Nor hopes to continue his good form when the Red Giants take on Armed Forces in a Super League match at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi today.

Raimi has been a regular on the flanks for the Red Giants in the absence of injured S. Kunalan and has played in all matches except for the Super League game against Terengganu.

The 26-year-old player was tasked with replacing Selangor’s marquee signing Kun—alan but he proved his mettle by chalking up a goal and setting up several goals for Selangor in his last six matches.

Selangor coach Irfan Bakti will once again rely on Raimi’s industry on the flanks as Kunalan, who have yet to fully recover from a groin injury and is set to miss the trip to Paroi.

“I have been filling in for Kunalan who is one of the best wingers in the country and I think I’m playing well at the moment,” said Raimi, who opened his goal scoring account in the 3-0 win over Sabah in the FA Cup second round match last week.

“Forces will be a tough opponents but we have the momentum. We need to keep our winning momentum going and play better than the 2-0 win over Kelantan and 3-0 over Sabah in the FA Cup last week.”

“Too much have been said about the scuffle after the FA Cup first round match against Forces but for me its something that is in the past.

“We will just focus on the game and I believe Forces also will have the same mindset.

The Gombak lad who started his career in 2007 with Selangor before plying his trade with club sides KL Plus FC, Sime Darby and Felda United said he is honoured to be playing for the Red Giants.

“I’m a true Selangor fan so it is always special to don the team’s famous red and yellow jersey,” added Raimi who started his footballing career playing age group football with the Klang Valley giants.
