PETALING JAYA: Kelantan fought back from a goal down to hold Maziya Sports and Recreation of Maldives to a 1-1 draw in their AFC Cup Group G match played at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru last night.
The visitors silenced the home fans with an opportunist goal through Hassan Adhuham in the 63rd minute before substitute Mohd Badhri Radzi drew level in the 77th minute.
Kelantan coach Bojan Hodak took a big gamble when he fielded an understrength squad. At least half of the first team players were on the bench, including Mohd Norfarhan Mohd, Indra Putra Mahayuddin, defender Obinee Nwaneri and Mohd Badhri.
In a desperate move to find the equaliser, Bojan brought in Mohd Badhri and Indra Putra. The move paid dividends when Badhri’s shot was deflected into goal.
