KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu’s T-Team, out to improve their strike force, will be giving former Selangor hitman Bosko Balaban a tryout.
The 35-year-old Croatian, who scored 12 goals in 20 appearances for the Red Giants last season, will only check in for the trials next week.
T-Team chief executive officer Abdul Rasid Jusoh said besides Balaban, the team will also be trying out four players from Brazil, Nigeria and Cameroon, who are aged between 19 and 35.
“If any of the players can impress the team manager and coach Peter Butler and the rest of the management, they are expected to be signed up during the April transfer window.”
The team’s other foreign player, former Dutch international George Boateng, who is also team captain, is expected to be retained.
“We could only manage to score three times in 10 matches, and we are currently placed eleventh out of 12 teams in the Super League. We have to find someone who can deliver the goals,” said Rasid.
Balaban has plied his trade with several renowned European clubs including Dinamo Zagreb, Club Brugge and Aston Villa.
He is without a team after Selangor released him at the end of his contract last season.
